I teach Critical Writing, Literature and Philosophy, and Communications at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. My advanced writing course is entitled "Building Community and Choosing to do Good: Why Studying Critical Writing, Ethics, Racism, and the Holocaust Matters". Here students read about ethics and are encouraged to reflect upon their own values. My Core course on literature and philosophy introduces my class to Plato's Dialogues, Mark Twain's "Huckleberry Finn", Kate Chopin's short stories, and Langston Hughes' poetry. This course asks students to ponder Who am I, What can I Know, Based on what I know, what should I do?
